Electrical safety testing of medical X-ray equipment and testing and evaluation of compliance of functions (in accordance with the requirements of the Latvia Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No 482 of 19 August 2014 “Regulations on Protection against Ionising Radiation in Medical Exposure”):

  • angiography X-ray equipment
  • computed tomography X-ray equipment;
  • dental X-ray equipment;
  • fluorography X-ray equipment;
  • surgical X-ray equipment;
  • mammography X-ray equipment;
  • mobile X-ray equipment in vehicles;
  • pantomographic X-ray equipment;
  • mobile X-ray equipment;
  • stationary X-ray equipment.


Calibration of non-medical X-ray equipment (in accordance with the requirements of the Latvia Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No 482 of 19 August 2014 “Regulations on Protection against Ionising Radiation”) and electrical safety checks:

  • X-ray equipment for baggage screening;
  • computed tomography X-ray equipment;
  • defect-scopic X-ray equipment;
  • mobile X-ray equipment in vehicles;
  • mobile X-ray equipment;
  • industrial X-ray equipment;;
  • stationary X-ray equipment;
  • scientific research X-ray equipment;
  • other sources of ionising radiation.

Physical testing of isotopic and non-isotopic sources and their surrounding environment (work area radiation monitoring) (in accordance with the requirements of the Latvia Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No 1284 of 12 November 2013 “Procedure for Control and Accounting of Exposure of Employees”):

  • medical equipment for all types of ionising radiation;
  • all types of non-medical ionising radiation equipment.


Electrical safety testing and function compliance testing and evaluation of radiotherapy equipment and nuclear medicine equipment (in accordance with the requirements of the Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No 482 of 19 August 2014 “Regulations on protection against ionising radiation in medical irradiation”) and calibration:

  • measuring the radioactive contamination of the surface by alpha, beta and gamma radiation


Calibration of dosimeters, radiometers, therapeutic ionisation chambers (in accordance with the requirements of the Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No 693 of 25 August 2008 “Regulations on Calibration of Measuring Instruments”) and dose and area multiplier meters (patient dose meters) (in accordance with the Latvia Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No 693 of 25 August 2008 “Regulations on Calibration of Measuring Instruments” and Latvia Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No 482 “Regulations on Protection against Ionising Radiation in Medical Exposure”):

  • calibrating the activity meter;
  • calibration of the dose-area product meter (patient dose meter);
  • calibration of the therapeutic ionisation chamber;
  • calibration of the surface smear measurement equipment;
  • calibration of other dosimeters and radiometers.


Testing of personal protective equipment for lead (Pb) equivalents and mechanical defects (in accordance with the requirements of the Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No 482 of 19 August 2014 “Regulations on Protection against Ionising Radiation”) and non-individual protective equipment for lead (Pb) equivalents and mechanical defects:

  • lead and lead collar testing;
  • lead and lead equivalent protective apron testing;
  • testing of the lead and lead equivalent gonad protector;
  • lead and lead equivalent protective skirt testing;
  • testing of lead and lead equivalent guard;
  • lead rubber and lead equivalent protective material testing;
  • lead and lead equivalent protective jacket testing;
  • lead and lead equivalent protective glove testing;
  • testing of large lead curtains;
  • large lead apron testing;
  • Testing of lead-free and environmentally friendly protective equipment;
  • Testing of other materials (lead equivalent and mechanical defects).
